Hook A Stitch Series: Post & Shells Stitch

The Post & Shells stitch is such a beautiful and unique stitch! It combines both lacy shell stitches and post stitches to add a bit of texture! This stitch would be perfect for a blanket!

st(s) – stitch(es)

rep – repeat

beg – beginning

sk – skip

tch – turning chain

ch – chain stitch

sc – single crochet

dc –  double crochet

FPdc – front post double crochet

BPdc – back post double crochet

Sh –  shell [2 dc, ch 1, 2 dc]

Pattern

Foundation: Chain a multiple of 6 + 3 sts

Row 1 (WS): Sh in 6th from hook , *sk next 2 ch, 1 dc in next ch, skip next 2 ch, sh in next ch, rep from * across, to last 3 chs, sk next 2 chs, dc in last ch, turn.

Row 2: Ch 3 (counts as dc now and throughout), *sh in next ch-1 space, sk next 2 dc of sh, FPdc in next dc; rep from * across, ending with dc in the top of tch, turn.

Row 3: Ch 3, *sh in next ch-1 space, sk next 2 dc of sh, BPdc in next dc; rep from * across with dc in the top of tch, turn.

Repeat Rows 2+3 for pattern.
