Hook A Stitch Series: Grit Stitch

I love the texture behind the crochet grit stitch!

It's a simple stitch combination but gives such a textured outcome! This stitch would be perfect for a  a cardigan or a sweater!

Abbreviations

st(s) – stitch(es)

rep – repeat

beg – beginning

sk – skip

ch – chain stitch

sc – single crochet

dc – double crochet

Foundation

Chain a multiple of 2+3 sts

Pattern

Row 1: Sk 2nd ch (counts as sc), dc into next ch, *sk 1 ch, [sc, dc] in next ch; rep from* to last 2 chs, sk 1 ch, sc into last ch, turn.

Row 2: Ch 1 (counts as sc) dc into 1st st, *sk 1 dc, [sc, dc] in next sc; rep from * to last 2 sts, sk 1 dc, sc in top of turning ch, turn.

Repeat Row 2 for pattern.
