, I knew it had to be transformed into a ribbed hat!
Handspun from handpainted merino tops,
yarn is truly gorgeous. Each skein is unique, and the colors are totally random ā they will not stack or pool. The ultra-soft superwash merino is so soft and fun to work with that it hat to be turned into a cozy hat.
The hat is pretty easy to crochet even for an absolute beginner! The ribbed look is achieved by crocheting in the back loops only of each row. As a reminder, each stitch is comprised of a āvā with two loops: a back loop and a front loop. The back loop is the one further away from you and the front loop is the one closer to you! Let's jump into the details!
Materials
Yarn:

Hook: US H/ 5 mm
Pattern
Ch 45
Row 1: Hdc in 3rd ch from and in each ch across, turn
Row 2: Ch 2, hdc tbl in each ch across, turn
Repeat Row 2 until hat measures 17.5 inches or size to fit around your head.
Fasten off.
Assembly
Thread yarn through the ends of the rows along one of the long edges. Pull the yarn tightly to gather the edges together. Sew the short side of the hat together.
