CROCHET RIBBED BEANIE WITH MANOS DEL URUGUAY

Beanies, beanies beanies! One can never have too many and when I saw the gorgeous

Serpentina

yarn from

Fairmount Fibers

, I knew it had to be transformed into a ribbed hat!

Handspun from handpainted merino tops,

Serpentina

yarn is truly gorgeous. Each skein is unique, and the colors are totally random — they will not stack or pool. The ultra-soft superwash merino is so soft and fun to work with that it hat to be turned into a cozy hat.

The hat is pretty easy to crochet even for an absolute beginner! The ribbed look is achieved by crocheting in the back loops only of each row. As a reminder, each stitch is comprised of a “v” with two loops: a back loop and a front loop. The back loop is the one further away from you and the front loop is the one closer to you!  Let's jump into the details!

Serpentina

 (colorway Malala)
