Untangling Yarn with Becky Helms from The Pink Samurai

I am so happy to introduce a new column to my blog called Untangling Yarn with... where I will be sharing sneak peek and behind the scene photos of some talented people out there! The first crafty gal paricipating is Becky from The Pink Samurai. She is a talented crocheter and blogger from Austin, TX. Her crochet creations are so lovely! Let’s take a look at Becky's projects...

When did you first learn to crochet?
Just about three years ago. I gave it a shot 4 years ago and was so frustrated that I put it down for a full year. Then I was determined to learn and never looked back.

What is it that you love most about crochet?
It's really relaxing for me.

What's your favourite thing to crochet?
I love creating something new. Taking a material and then making into something wearable or usable.
What's been your best crochet achievement?
My first craft show, seeing people get really excited about what I was making. It just felt so great to have other people really get my style and want to be a part of it!

Where do you find inspiration?
All over! I'm really influenced by the bright colors and design from Japanese pop culture.
What are you working on at the moment?
I'm getting ready for a craft show in May, so it's all about building up my stock right now. Lots of crocheting my favorite pieces.

Where do you feel most comfortable crocheting?
On the couch with a silly tv show on and my husband next to me. And having one of my cats on my lap doesn't hurt. Though, they can make crocheting a little more difficult when they want to play with the yarn haha!
Do you do any other crafts and what are your hobbies?
I love embroidery, sewing, woodworking, drawing...my husband and I are always making something. I also love exploring all the vintage and thrift shops in my area. Traveling around Texas is one of my most favorite things to do!
Thank you so much Becky for sharing! Your scarf is absolutely gorgeous!
I hope you all enjoyed this little tour of Beky's Untangling Yarn and learning more about her love for crochet.

What are you working on these days?
