Crochet Floral Cozies

March means that spring is on it's way! This time of year all winter colors tend to be replaced by brighter ones! Lately I have this thing for pastel colors! I was never fond of such color shades but I guess I was wrong! I really enjoy working with pastel colored yarn! :)

I am also in the process of organising my craft room, supplies and of course my huge amount of yarn! I was playing around with this idea for quite a while now, thinking of ways to organize my supplies! When I stumbled across this idea in a crochet book I was thrilled! I have like a gazillion of mason jars lying around! So why not dress them up prettily and add some pretty florals? The perfect way to organize hooks, needles and other stuff! :)

Materials:
I used three different sizes of mason jars and made each one a simple crochet cozy. I used the simple crochet stitch and a 4mm (G) hook. I used pastel shades for the cozies.

How to cross stitch on crochet:
Basically each sc stitch represents a square so you will cross stitch above each stitch! There are tons of free cross stitch patterns out there! I used this pattern, a pretty simple one as I am a beginner in cross stitching!

How to embroider rose and tulip:
The rose and the tulip are made using the embroidery bullion stitch! I love this stitch as it gives texture and dimension to your work! I used this tutorial to learn how to make the bullion stitch! The leaves of the flowers are made using the lazy daisy stitch! This tutorial is pretty simple and easy to follow! With a bit of practice I managed to make my flowers pretty easily!:)
Have you ever tried to cross stitch /embroider  over crochet?
Wishing you a happy Friday!
